Guy M. McBride, Ph.D. was a school psychologist and is a licensed psychologist-health service provider (Lic 0663 NC) living in Hickory, North Carolina. A native New Yorker, he attended the State University of New York at Albany, graduating with a B.A. and state certification as a secondary English teacher. He served two years in the Peace Corps as a teacher in Tanzania and taught sixth grade one year in Irondequoit, NY, before going to George Peabody College at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee in 1968. Interning in Long Beach, New York, he served the next 37 years as a school psychologist first in New York (7 years in Rocky Point, NY) and then for Burke County Public Schools in North Carolina. He retired from the public school system in 2009. He obtained his doctoral degree from Peabody in 1975.
